Temperature-Sensitive and Perishable Goods Shipping Policy

Becerra Brand offers certain temperature-sensitive and perishable products (including but not limited to frozen packaged tamales). These items require proper temperature control during transit to remain safe and high-quality.

Recommended Shipping Methods To ensure product integrity:

  • Frozen items (e.g., frozen tamales): FedEx Overnight (or equivalent next-day air service) or UPS Ground when shipping to addresses within approximately 100 miles of our (North Texas regional area).
  • Heat-sensitive items (e.g., frozen tamales): 1-Day Air minimum; Overnight recommended when outside temperatures exceed 70°F.

UPS Ground Exception for North Texas When the ship-to address is within approximately 100 miles of our Fort Worth, Texas distribution point (covering most of North Texas, including the Dallas-Fort Worth metroplex and surrounding areas), UPS Ground is typically sufficient due to short transit times (often 1 business day or same-day/local delivery in many cases). This option may be available and selected at checkout for eligible addresses only if the product page or checkout explicitly indicates it as acceptable for your item. Outside this radius, UPS Ground or any ground shipping is not recommended and may result in longer transit times and spoilage.

We ship perishable orders Monday–Thursday only and adjust shipment dates to avoid weekend or holiday delays. We pack with high-quality insulated containers and sufficient frozen gel packs or dry ice (as appropriate). However, once the package leaves our facility, temperature control is subject to carrier handling, weather, and transit time—factors outside our control.

Customer Responsibility It is your sole responsibility to review product-specific shipping requirements (clearly displayed on each product page) and to select the correct shipping method at checkout. Ground shipping (including UPS Ground outside the North Texas 100-mile radius exception), USPS, or any method slower than the recommended service is not suitable for these items and is selected at your own risk.

By placing an order for a temperature-sensitive or perishable item, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • You have chosen (or knowingly accepted) a shipping method appropriate for the product, your delivery location, and current/forecasted weather conditions.
  • You will ensure someone is available to receive the package promptly upon delivery (no signature is required by default).
  • You will immediately refrigerate or freeze the contents upon receipt.

Limitation of Liability / No Refunds for Spoilage Becerra Brand is not responsible and assumes no liability for any spoilage, thawing, melting, damage, or loss of quality if:

  • You select a shipping method that extends transit time beyond the recommended window (including weekends/holidays) or UPS Ground for non-North Texas regional addresses.
  • The package is left unattended, delivered to an incorrect address you provided, or not retrieved promptly.
  • The items spoil after the first delivery attempt, even if the carrier attempted redelivery.
  • Weather, carrier delays, or any condition after the package is tendered to the carrier affects temperature control.

In any of these situations, no refunds, replacements, reshipments, or credits will be issued. We do not guarantee the condition of perishable packages if the delivery service reroutes or delays them.

Returns & Refunds Perishable and temperature-sensitive items are final sale and non-returnable once shipped. We reserve the right to refuse returns of any opened or spoiled perishable product.
